The Male Room Challenge #191 - Trees

Good Morning,

Welcome to this month's challenge at The Male Room.  Challenge #191 has the theme of Trees.

I found this wonderful patterned paper amongst my stash and that gave me the ides of recreating the trees in matching colours using Funky Fossil Quirky Tree dies..

I'm really pleased with how well the die cut trees have matched the patterned paper. I know a lot of people think pink doesn't lend well to a masculine card but I'm not of that view when used correctly. I think the theme of 'Trees' lends a masculine air to this card and challenge.

Now pop over to The Male Room blog and check out the rest of the fabulous inspiration by the Design Team and add your creation to the mix too.

Much love

The Male Room Challenge #179 - Get Well Soon

Welcome!

This month at The Male Room challenge we are looking for your masculine Get Well Soon cards.

I went for the classic get well fruit bowl! This stamp set is super fun and is from Funky Fossil.

I used alcohol markers to colour each fruit in before fussy cutting and arranging onto the card front.

What theme will you go with for your Get Well card, or will you choose to do a pattern rather than a theme? CAS or lots of layering? Anything is acceptable as long as it meets the theme and is masculine. Check out the rest of the Design Team’s makes over on The Male Room blog for even more inspiration.

Good morning all,

Today we are up with Papercraft Challenges monthly challenge #94 and the theme is 'Things with Wings'. Lots of 'things' could be used here and not just birds or insects but what about planes too?!

My choice of 'things' were butterflies and here I have used Funky Fossil Geo Bugs stamp set which I have coloured, fussy cut and adhered to a background made using Stampin Up! Dictionary stamp.

This month's challenge is sponsored by Little Crafts and the winner this month with receive a surprise prize!

We look forward to seeing your creations over at the Papercraft Challenges blog where you can also check out the fabulous makes by the rest of the Design Team.

The Male Room Challenge #158 - For a Teenager

Good morning,

Today’s challenge is for The Male Room and the theme is ‘For a Teenager’.

Oh my goodness, not an easy challenge but certainly one that gets the grey matter going!

I always seem to go for bright colours with my ‘teenager’ cards. Here I have used Funky Fossil Snap Happy stamp set and white heat embossed it onto coloured card. I added detail by stencilling small ‘splatters’ onto the camera images themselves along with a larger one onto the Kraft card base. I fussy cut the cameras and adhered using foam pads. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I masked the inner area of the film strip so I could add the sentiment to it.

I hope this helps inspire you and you will join in with our challenge. Go check out The Male Room challenge blog for more fantastic creations from the Design Team.

Much love

Funky Fossil Gnomes Part II

Morning all,

I didn’t think I’d have time to post Part II of my Funky Fossil Gnomes this week but if I don’t do it now I won’t get round to it for ages and then the Christmas spirit may have passed!

As with the last trio, I have used acrylic paints and a mixture of stencils, texture paste and Nuvo drops.

I will be entering into the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge #574

The Holly and the Ivy Christmas challenge #106

Happy New Year to you all wherever you are and whatever you will be doing…I’ll be in bed! 😂

Much love

Funky Fossil Gnomes - Part I

Good morning all,

A while ago I purchased two packs of Funky Fossil’s trio of gnomes (so 6 in total!) and I had the best time decorating them.

This set was given as a late November birthday present so the recipient would be able to use them for Christmas this year.

I have used acrylic paint for the base colours and beards. The decorative elements are a combination of heat embossing, texture paste or painting through a stencil. I’ve added detail with some Nuvo drops, stickles and a white gel pen.

The second set are being given as a gift for Christmas so I will share those at a later date!

I haven’t had time to enter any challenges for ages so here goes:

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #472

Hi everyone,

We have another Crazy 8 challenge over at Color My Heart Color Dare this week for challenge #472. We have noticed that the Crazy 8 challenges are not as popular as some others but they aren't as scary as they seem! Simply select a minimum of 4 colours from the square and create something beautiful. 😊

As always we refer to Close To My Heart colour names but any brand is fine as long as it is a VERY close match. For this type of challenge I usually go a bit wild and use all eight colours (!) but today I restrained myself and challenged myself to use just the required four.

My colours are Papaya, Mink, Silver, Sapphire and Gold...as you can see I didn't stick to my challenge of only four colours!!! I threw the Papaya in at the last minute as I needed something to lift the whole card.
It's been a while since I made a hexagon card so I die cut a card base in white, layered up the gold and Papaya and added a Sapphire frame. The trees are fabulous dies from Funky Fossil called Quirky Trees, which I cut from Sapphire, Mink, Gold and Silver card. The sentiment stamp is from a super set from Uniko called Anniversaire Arts Decoratifs and I thought it would suit this card well.

Hopefully you feel inspired to give this challenge a try and if you hop over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog you will get some more fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team. I love how different the makes look due to the different colours we each select.

Much love
