Color My Heart Color Dare #498

Hi all,

Thanks for joining me today where I have a new Color My Heart Color Dare challenge to share with you. Challenge #498 is a great challenge that really leaves things open to your imagination.

I usually plan my cards out in my head before I make them, I find this quite therapeutic at bedtime, however recently I’ve been too busy and have been rolling into bed already half asleep. So this card was one of those just made up as I went along.

I started off by stamping the silhouette from Uniko Just Because stamp set in the challenge colours. I wanted a frame around it and decided on circular and then decided to make it into a shaker. I took a 6” square card blank and folded the top panel back on itself to create an easel card. To this I added layers of black card and green patterned paper. Then I added the sentiment strip raised up on foam pads to create a ‘stopper’. Finally I adhered the shaker to the easel part of the card.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys make with this week's inspiration photo / colour selection and I hope you will pop over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog to check out the awesome creations by the rest of the Design Team.

As my card contains a fun fold I will be entering it into Creative Creases Challenge #33.

Much love

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #469

Good morning all,

I made this card last week but didn’t have chance to write my blog post until now.

I had a very productive time using up items I had already created but were in the ‘pending’ pile as far as making a card was concerned!

The background is foiled in silver using a regular die and it has given a lovely outlined detail. To this I have added a strip of silver glitter card and on top of that an image that I had already printed, coloured and die cut. Finally I added the sentiment strips which I had also stamped and die cut. So overall it was a nice quick card to make.

I used the sketch from CAS colours & sketches challenge #469 for my layout and have flipped it on the short edge to move the shape part lower and the sentiment higher.

As this is a Christmas card I’m also entering it into the following:

Challenge 594
anything goes as long as it's Christmas
optional theme: candy canes

Color My Heart Color Dare #496

Good afternoon everyone,

This week at Color My Heart Color Dare for challenge #496 we have a nicely muted set of colours from which you have to select a minimum of three.

We reference Close to My Heart colours but you can use any as long as the are a VERY close match. You can also use the free colours of black, white and Kraft but these cannot be included in your minimum three colours.

Also for this challenge, don't forget that your card base must be one of the colours in the grid.

I chose to use Harbour, Peach and Gold with my card base being made from Harbour. I kept my card quite simple and die cut the dragonfly and bee from Habour and Gold card before paper piecing them together and adhering over a Peach stamp edge die cut square. The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set called Tickle My Fancy and I thought it went well with the flying insects.

Please head over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and hopefully decide to join in the fun!

Much love

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Passiflora and BB Grid

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for May. And I also add that May is my one year anniversary of becoming a Brand Ambassador for the wonderful Uniko. Where has that time gone?!

This month I’ve dug out the Uniko Passiflora stamp set because it’s one of great beauty but I haven’t played about with it nearly enough.

I really like florals teamed with geometrics and when I first saw the Uniko Background Blocks Grid stamp it reminded me of garden trellis so I think it’s a perfect match.

My first card uses the BB Grid stamped twice which rather nicely fits an A6 card front. I stamped my Passiflora in the most common colour way leaving the petals white but adding a purple edge by stamping with the outline stamp only. Each layer of the flower is stamped, cut and adhered using either double sided tape or foam pads for depth. The leaves and ‘twirls’ are stamped in my favourite green and arranged around the florals. An addition of sentiment from the Uniko Floral Vines stamp set, which is raised up on foam pads, and the panel was adhered to a purple card blank.

My second card uses a single grid which I have offset as I wanted the florals to take up the main focus of the bottom right of the panel. This time I used the colours of a pink Passiflora and again the layers are adhered using both double sided tape and foam pads.

My final card is a slimline and I wanted the leaves to shine out here. I’ve stamped them in three shades of green before adding the BB Grid along the right hand edge. I then stamped the Passiflora in a purple colour way and one more leaf! I adhered the sentiment using foam pads and then added the leaf on too. After adhering the florals I added some drops of glossy accents to the middle stamen. They look like dew drops in the morning!

All the florals are shaped with the petals curved backwards which has not shown well on the photos but looks great on the cards.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you like my three ways with Passiflora. As always I had a lovely time inking these stamps and I know I’ll be coming back to them again soon.

Much love

The Male Room Craft Challenge #162

Welcome all!

Over at The Male Room Craft Challenge this month we have the theme of 'Sport'.

My husband likes to play golf, when he gets the chance, so I bought a stamp set especially to make this card for the girls to give him this Father's Day!

I'm not really one for creating 'scenes' on cards so I veered away from grass and sky and decided that the golf bag would look great gold heat embossed onto dark blue card. The circle behind is the debossed side of a spotty embossing folder, to mimic a golf ball! And behind that is a rectangle of the same card simply embossed with lines for texture. In keeping with my current fondness for coloured card blanks, I have used the same dark blue card to make an A6 sized card blank.

Please do head over to The Male Room blog where you will see lots more amazing inspiration and you can join in the fun challenge! (Don't forget to add our challenge graphic to your blog post and a link back to the challenge to be eligible for votes).

Much love
