Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Watercolour Emboss Resist

Morning all,

I was inspired to do some emboss resist following this lovely example by Anita. I started off with the Uniko Background Builders Arts Decoratifs stamp set and repeatedly heat emboss one line of the set in white. I then used metallic watercolours to create a wash across the card in various colours.

For my next card I heat embossed the Uniko Large Background: Scattered Polka Hearts stamp in white and did an ombre wash using four different blue inks. I white heat embossed one of the hearts from Uniko Always & Forever set, ink washed and fussy cut before adhering to the background with foam pads.

Finally, I remembered this fantastic card from Jules and was inspired to try the resist embossing with the Uniko Remembrance stamp set.

I definitely need to work on my watercolour skills so that's on the list for this year!

You're Going to Flip - Introducing Ink & Flip Geometric Butterfly Layering Stencil

Morning!

Today we are introducing the Uniko Ink & Flip Geometric Butterfly layering stencil.

I used both stencils to create my shaker card. First I used the outer stencil to create my background and cut out the centre to create an aperture. I then inked up the centre butterfly on a separate piece of card to use under my shaker element. The ‘shaker’ pieces are clear plastic hexagons so as not to detract from the butterfly. I then used part of the butterfly I had inked in pink as a sentiment strip. Finally I added some Nuvo drops for interest.

Now work your way along the following blog hop to see more superb inspiration from the Brand Ambassadors.

Uniko You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering Stencil Revisited

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying our Uniko Ink & Flip revisits this week. The final one today is Uniko Ink & Flip Geometric Heart stencil.

Lots of concentration needed for this one as I had to ink half the segments before turning the stencil over and inking the others trying to match the rainbow stripes…not 100% successful unfortunately but that’s handmade for you!

Are you excited for the new release tomorrow? I can tell you it’s a good one and I’ve already seen a comment on the Uniko blog saying that it’s tricky to work out what it is from the sneak peek!

Head over to the Uniko blog to see more wonderful inspiration from the rest of the Brand Ambassadors and come back tomorrow for the new release!

Uniko You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Snowflake Revisited

Morning all,

Welcome to our next product revisit from the Uniko You're Going to Flip week! Today we are using the Ink & Flip Snowflake which was originally released in July 2023.

This card sort of organically came about as I played around with the stencil. I wanted a colourful background so I started off using some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders but honestly ended up in a very inky mess! I think maybe I'm a over waterer like I am with house plants. So I switched to coloured card instead and was interested to see what Kraft card would look like. I used Pickled Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides and created a pretty panel. I wanted to add some more interest so I die cut the layering squares and raised up the second panel with one layer of foam pads and the innermost panel with two layers of foam pads. Now this is perhaps where I should have stopped, but of course I decided to add some glitter due to it being a Christmas Card and my strange need to make those glitzy! Unfortunately the glitter has taken away the definition between the two colours so it's not quite as nice as I would have liked but at least it sparkles!! The sentiment is from the Uniko Christmas Sentiments stamp set.

Now to check out the rest of the Brand Ambassadors fabulous inspiration too:

Uniko You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Christmas Star Revisited

Good morning,

Welcome to the first Uniko Ink & Flip stencil revisit which is the Christmas Star. But of course you don't have to use it for a Christmas card...

This is one of those cards I designed in my head whilst pondering what to do for this revisit and I'm so glad the other elements have fitted in so nicely with the stencilled star. First of all I ink (and flipped) the star using Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemon and Fossilized Amber. I then stamped the orange and blue explosions from the Uniko Explosion! Additions stamp set. I stamped the 'Wow!' from the same set and die cut it with the complimentary dies before adhering with foam pads. I then stamped the Happy and Birthday from the Uniko Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments and the Uniko Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder stamp sets. I'm really pleased with how this turned out and I'm glad I've found another way to use this great stencil.

The Brand Ambassadors have of course got lots more inspiration for you too, just follow the blog hop below.

Papercraft Challenges #105 - Fairies and Other Mystical Beings

Good morning,

Welcome to this month's Papercraft Challenges challenge #105 which have the theme of 'Fairies and Other Mystical Beings'. We have kindly been provided imaged by Mirtillamente.

My fairy lady has had her wings covered with Wink of Stella but it's very hard to capture this on a photo. I thought the holographic strip of card would help her sparkle some more and the sentiment 'Razzle Dazzle' from Uniko seemed like a perfect fit!

To join in the fun, head over to Challenge #105 on the Papercraft Challenges blog and if you are chosen as our lucky winner you will win your choice of two digital images and the chance to guest design in a future challenge.

Much love

The Male Room Challenge #185 - Embossing

Hi everyone,

I'm back! I took a little time off from The Male Room design team just to recharge and catch myself back up but I'm back now and very happy to be continuing to keep this brilliant challenge blog going.

Our theme for this month's challenge is 'Embossing' and this can be dry embossing or heat embossing. I went with dry embossing for my card(s).

Believe it or not I started with a white piece of card to which I used a scoreboard to add the vertical lines. I then embossed with an embossing folder and dragged a grey ink pad down the card stock until I was happy with the coverage. I did the same very lightly with a blue inkpad. I die cut the sentiment and added nuvo drops to the corners to act a 'rivets'.

I really enjoyed this process which I first saw on a Gina K YouTube video, so I created another card using the same process but a different embossing folder and different coloured ink.

Will you join us over at The Male Room? We'd love to see your creations over on the blog.

Much love
