Uniko January 2025 Release - Introducing... Flower Power #11 and Stencil - Mid Century Modern Stars & Circles

Welcome back, 

We are in full swing with our Uniko January 2025 release introductions and today we have two further fantastic products to introduce. 

First up we have an addition to the Flower Power range, this being number 11 in the series.

As you can see this floral is similar to a tulip and has both a solid and an outline stamp with some very lovely friendship sentiments.

Both the above cards use the new Uniko Mid Century Modern Stars & Circles stencil and sentiments from the new Simply Said Blocks Occasions stamp set which will be introduced tomorrow.

The Male Room Challenge #194 - Clean and Simple

Good Morning and Happy New Year! 

How exciting to start Jan 1st with a new challenge from The Male Room. Just a little change to the phasing of challenges this year, we will no longer be taking a gap between challenges. So as one challenge ends, the next will begin the following day...even more time for you to join in the fun with us! 

And for January, our theme is Clean and Simple...right up my street! This challenge will run to 4th Feb.

For my card I used a simple one line stamp from Adventures In Ink. I added the sentiment and ice cubes from another stamp set before doing some very simple colouring with pencils. 

I quite like a CAS card as they can be quite quick to make, which this one needed to be as I'm running out of time to get everything done for Christmas before the children break up from school and as I ferociously type this blog post!

Uniko January 2025 Release - Introducing... Ink & Flip Layering Geometric Gem AND Sparkle Sentiments Clear Stamp Set

Happy New Year! 

I hope the New Year is starting off well for you? I wonder what excitement 2025 has in store? Well I can't say much about anything further into the year (lack of crystal ball!) but what I can say is that we have a couple of great Uniko product introductions today and even more as we go through the rest of the week and weekend.

Bev has worked her magic once again and created another amazing ink & flip layering stencil set called Geometric Gem. And she has designed these absolutely gorgeous Sparkle Sentiments to go with it. I have used both of the stencils in the set on the above card and also added a few water flecks to add to the 'gem' effect. The sentiment is heat embossed in white to let the gem stand out in all it's glory.

Unlike the first card, this card just uses one of the stencils from the set, which works just beautifully on its own. The sentiment is heat embossed with black sparkle powder which is so gorgeous in real life but of course really hard to capture on photo!

The rest of the Uniko Brand Ambassadors have done a super job with this new stencil and stamp set so make sure you have a look at their blog posts and leave some gems of comments (see what I did there?!! ha ha!).

Uniko January 2025 Release - Introducing... Layering Picked Posies Stencil

Good morning and Happy New Year's Eve! 

We are very excited to kick of the Uniko January 2025 with an introduction to this fantastic Layering Picked Posies stencil.

This card uses all four layers of the stencil set but only part of the full image which is actually square. I teamed it with a sentiment from the Uniko Doodle Flowers stamp set.

For this card I only used two of the stencil layers and fussy cut the flower heads to arrange on my card front. The sentiment is made up from Uniko Simply Said Blocks and the new addition to the Simply Said Blocks set being introduced later this week.

Uniko January 2025 Release Sneak Peeks

Good Morning!! 

How are the festivities going for you all? Do we still have any turkey left that needs used up?! Has the waistband on your pants become suddenly tighter?! Papercraft Challenges #113 - Under the Mistletoe

Good morning, 

And welcome to the final challenge from Papercraft Challenges for 2024. This month we have the theme of 'Under the Mistletoe'. We have kindly been provided digi stamps by our sponsor Mirtillamente craft shop.

For this card I have used the digi stamp Christmas Town for the above card. I like the simple design of this digi and decided to use the paper piecing technique, printing the image onto green, blue and yellow card. To finish I added red Nuvo drops to the centre tree, crystal Stickles to the star and windows and 3d Pearl Effects to the 'snow' on the houses and trees. 

This stamp is called Christmas Home. Here I have simply coloured the scene with alcohol markers and layered onto coloured card mats.

Welcome to the last challenge from The Male Room for 2024...and to see the year out we have an 'Anything Goes' theme.

Rather than make a Christmas card, I decided to try and increase my masculine birthday card stash which is running a little low. 

Here I have used Stampin Up! Foxy Friends stamp set with matching punch.

Uniko 12 Days Of Christmas Inspiration & Giveaways 2024 - Christmas Linky Party

Good morning, 

Welcome to the start of Uniko's 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration and Giveaways 2024. 

Today we have the Linky Party for you to join with a Christmas card made using Uniko products. 

I made both these cards at the same time by stamping the Uniko Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder stamp set. I stamped the wreath in the middle of an A5 piece of card before cutting it down the middle to create two A6 pieces. I trimmed these a little further before sitting them back together again on my stamping platform but this time with the two blank edges together to create the second wreath. I stamped the wreath in the middle of the two pieces and added the sentiments. I then stamped the additional elements (bows and holly), fussy cut and adhered to the wreaths before matting the image panel to a red / green card base. 

Now it's your time to get creating and join the Linky Party but please ensure you adhere to the rules:

Simply create a new Christmas card using Uniko products. You can use sentiments, embellishments, dies, papers etc from other brands. As long as Uniko is prominent or the main focus of the card.

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Background Builders Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas! 

Hopefully everyone is in full Christmas mode now but don't panic if not. I have used Uniko's Background Builders Christmas 2018 stamps to create some fairly quick cards (the heat embossing makes these a take a little longer but you could reduce time by simply stamping with ink instead).

Here I lined up four of the stamp strips and carefully inked and stamped them one at a time. The sentiment is from the Uniko Christmas Sentiments stamp set. 

This card took only slightly longer to make than the last as the striped stamp was used twice so it had to be cleaned and repositioned between colours.

On this card I have used clear embossing powder over the red and green ink and gold embossing powder for the centre strip but of course you could just use the ink and leave out the heat embossing. The sentiment this time is from the rereleased Uniko Pure Florals Poinsettia stamp set. 

Following on from making my last card I discovered that I had red and green embossing powder in my stash (doh!) so I made the card again using these rather than ink and clear embossing powder, changing the rotation of the background builder strips. 

Hopefully these have helped if you are a little pushed for time or behind in your Christmas card making.

Papercraft Challenges #112 - Monochrome

Good morning, 

Welcome to Papercraft Challenges where this month's theme is 'Monochrome'.

Although we are well past the Halloween season, I thought it was a good one for sticking to the theme and using only shades of black. The fabulous stencil is from Uniko and it's one of their very clever ink and flip stencils. You ink through one side of the stencil, wipe it clean, flip it and ink through the other side to complete the cobweb. The sentiment is also created using the Uniko Alphabet Outlined stamp set.

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Fairy Lights

Good morning, 

Following on from the lovely new release from Uniko at the end of Oct, one stamp really called out to me and that was Uniko Framed - Fairy Lights. I have used this stamp for my Brand Ambassador inspiration post this month and found that it teams very nicely with Uniko Mid Century Modern Baubles. 

Here I have heat embossed the fairy lights using red glitter embossing powder and coloured the lights in using a green alcohol marker and silver and gold gel pens. The bauble and sentiment are also heat embossed. 

This card is similar to the last one but I have used green glitter embossing powder instead and also used the embossing powders for the bauble and sentiment. 

Switching to gold embossing powder and colouring the background in meant I could leave the bauble white to let it stand out. 

Finally I used the fairy lights stamp in a landscape setting and stamped using dye ink. I coloured the lights using alcohol markers and added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella brush pen.

The Male Room Challenge #192 - Kinetic Cards

Good morning and welcome, 

This morning we have a new challenge for you at The Male Room. Challenge #192 is all about 'Kinetic Cards' or cards that move in some way. 

This is my take on the challenge:

Obviously my moving part is the camper van, done using a slider die and a 1p piece! There's not a huge amount of movement in my card but I have wanted to make a slider card for so long so I'm glad I finally got around to it. It's actually easier than I was expecting so I will likely have a go at a few more. The stamps and dies are all from the recently closed down Heffy Doodle.
