Color My Heart Color Dare #500

Hi everyone,

Hoping you are all well this Friday afternoon? This week's Color My Heart Color Dare challenge is a Tic, Tac, Toe board. Simply choose a row, column or diagonal to use in your creation.

We reference Close to My Heart colours but you may use any brand as long as you make a VERY close match. You may use the other colours in the grid as well as the free colours of black, white and gold.

I chose to use the far right column of Evergreen, Sundance and Mocha. I've used a 'new to me' stamp set from Uniko called Originally Organic Additions with a sentiment from Uniko Everyday Sentiments set. I stamped the foliage heart and added in the florals in between. I coloured them in using alcohol markers in shades of my three chosen colours. I die cut the panel using a stitched border square die,  layered it onto a larger stitched border piece of Mocha card and then a 5" white card blank.

Hop over to the Color My Heart blog, leave some love for the rest of the brilliant Design Team and join in the fun. Which row, column or diagonal will you choose?

Much love

Uniko June 2022 Release Introducing - Sunshine & Rainbows and Stencil Raindrops

Good morning to you all,

We have a very cute stamp set to share with you today called Uniko Sunshine & Rainbows. Also today is an equally cute stencil called Uniko Stencil Raindrops.

This stamp set has been a particular joy to work with as each 'layer' of the rainbow is a separate stamp making it so easy to work with.

I kept to a very traditional rainbow for today's card but you will see a different way to use it if you come back for the reveal and release day. I just love the clouds too! Here I simply took each rainbow arc in turn, inked and stamped. I found it easier to start with the smaller arc and stamp outwards.

I didn’t however stay traditional with my raindrops!

I have also used the Uniko Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and was very pleased to see that the small cluster of three raindrops stamp fits exactly over the stencil so I was able to stamp a few drops for a darker effect.

I never thought I needed a raindrop stencil in my life but oh my gosh I was so wrong! I absolutely love this stencil!

Head over to the Uniko Blog and see how the rest of the Brand Ambassadors used these fabulous products.

Uniko June 2022 Release Introducing - Background Builders Hearts

Good morning,

I hope everyone is keeping well? We are here today to introduce Uniko Background Builders Hearts stamp set. These background builder sets are always so versatile.

I have created a 'floating' panel for my card and heat embossed the heart stamp strips onto coloured card before die cutting them into a heart. I added the two further hearts for interest. I absolutely love the criss-cross effect of these heart stamps.

Once again pop over to the Uniko blog to check out the other fantastic inspiration from the rest of the Brand Ambassadors and leave some love on the Uniko blog.

Uniko June 2022 Release Introducing - Layering Stencil Zesty

Hi and welcome,

Here we have the introduction of a marvellous set of stencils called Uniko Layering Stencils Zesty and I have had a ball with these!

With my fondness for green I chose to create lime slices but of course there are other fruits you could use these stencils for. There are four stencils in all with this set but I have only used three of them here. Come back for the reveal and release day and you will see all four in action!

Firstly I inked the circles and semi circles stencil in green chalk ink. Next I added the ‘segment’ detail by dabbing white acrylic paint through the second stencil. Finally I added the ‘juicy’ squirts by inking a third stencil from the set.

Now. get yourself over to the Uniko blog and see more zesty creations from the rest of the Brand Ambassadors! Don’t forget to leave everyone a very lovely comment, it really does mean the world to us.

Uniko June 2022 Release Introducing - Organically Zesty

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Uniko introduction of Organically Zesty stamp set. The size of this set is one of the larger ones provided by Uniko and it's really impressive and impactful on a card. You will of course see the full set on the release day post but here is a taster for you:

Here I have stamped the orange on white card before colouring with alcohol markers and fussy cutting. I have then repeat stamped the lemon in Versamark on Kraft card to give an effective but subtle background.

Loving it already?! Pop over to the Uniko blog to check out the other fantastic inspiration from the rest of the Brand Ambassadors.

The Male Room Craft Challenge #163

Welcome back!

This month at The Male Room we are looking for a 'Tag'.

As June is Father's Day in the UK I used that as my inspiration for my tag.

As my Dad is a super star I used my star dies to cut out some teal card that I have foiled with white foil. This type of foil does not require heat and simply sticks to adhesive so I used strips of double sided tape. I also foiled teal card with teal foil and die cut the smaller tag shape before adhering this onto a larger tag shape using foam pads. The larger tag die and the sentiment are both from Clearly Besotted.

So where will you draw your inspiration from for your tag? Head over to The Male Room blog to see what themes the rest of the awesome Design Team used and to join in with us!

Color My Heart Color Dare #498

Hi all,

Thanks for joining me today where I have a new Color My Heart Color Dare challenge to share with you. Challenge #498 is a great challenge that really leaves things open to your imagination.

I usually plan my cards out in my head before I make them, I find this quite therapeutic at bedtime, however recently I’ve been too busy and have been rolling into bed already half asleep. So this card was one of those just made up as I went along.

I started off by stamping the silhouette from Uniko Just Because stamp set in the challenge colours. I wanted a frame around it and decided on circular and then decided to make it into a shaker. I took a 6” square card blank and folded the top panel back on itself to create an easel card. To this I added layers of black card and green patterned paper. Then I added the sentiment strip raised up on foam pads to create a ‘stopper’. Finally I adhered the shaker to the easel part of the card.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys make with this week's inspiration photo / colour selection and I hope you will pop over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog to check out the awesome creations by the rest of the Design Team.

As my card contains a fun fold I will be entering it into Creative Creases Challenge #33.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #469

Good morning all,

I made this card last week but didn’t have chance to write my blog post until now.

I had a very productive time using up items I had already created but were in the ‘pending’ pile as far as making a card was concerned!

The background is foiled in silver using a regular die and it has given a lovely outlined detail. To this I have added a strip of silver glitter card and on top of that an image that I had already printed, coloured and die cut. Finally I added the sentiment strips which I had also stamped and die cut. So overall it was a nice quick card to make.

I used the sketch from CAS colours & sketches challenge #469 for my layout and have flipped it on the short edge to move the shape part lower and the sentiment higher.

As this is a Christmas card I’m also entering it into the following:

Challenge 594
anything goes as long as it's Christmas
optional theme: candy canes

Color My Heart Color Dare #496

Good afternoon everyone,

This week at Color My Heart Color Dare for challenge #496 we have a nicely muted set of colours from which you have to select a minimum of three.

We reference Close to My Heart colours but you can use any as long as the are a VERY close match. You can also use the free colours of black, white and Kraft but these cannot be included in your minimum three colours.

Also for this challenge, don't forget that your card base must be one of the colours in the grid.

I chose to use Harbour, Peach and Gold with my card base being made from Harbour. I kept my card quite simple and die cut the dragonfly and bee from Habour and Gold card before paper piecing them together and adhering over a Peach stamp edge die cut square. The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set called Tickle My Fancy and I thought it went well with the flying insects.

Please head over to the Color My Heart Color Dare blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and hopefully decide to join in the fun!

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Passiflora and BB Grid

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for May. And I also add that May is my one year anniversary of becoming a Brand Ambassador for the wonderful Uniko. Where has that time gone?!

This month I’ve dug out the Uniko Passiflora stamp set because it’s one of great beauty but I haven’t played about with it nearly enough.

I really like florals teamed with geometrics and when I first saw the Uniko Background Blocks Grid stamp it reminded me of garden trellis so I think it’s a perfect match.

My first card uses the BB Grid stamped twice which rather nicely fits an A6 card front. I stamped my Passiflora in the most common colour way leaving the petals white but adding a purple edge by stamping with the outline stamp only. Each layer of the flower is stamped, cut and adhered using either double sided tape or foam pads for depth. The leaves and ‘twirls’ are stamped in my favourite green and arranged around the florals. An addition of sentiment from the Uniko Floral Vines stamp set, which is raised up on foam pads, and the panel was adhered to a purple card blank.

My second card uses a single grid which I have offset as I wanted the florals to take up the main focus of the bottom right of the panel. This time I used the colours of a pink Passiflora and again the layers are adhered using both double sided tape and foam pads.

My final card is a slimline and I wanted the leaves to shine out here. I’ve stamped them in three shades of green before adding the BB Grid along the right hand edge. I then stamped the Passiflora in a purple colour way and one more leaf! I adhered the sentiment using foam pads and then added the leaf on too. After adhering the florals I added some drops of glossy accents to the middle stamen. They look like dew drops in the morning!

All the florals are shaped with the petals curved backwards which has not shown well on the photos but looks great on the cards.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you like my three ways with Passiflora. As always I had a lovely time inking these stamps and I know I’ll be coming back to them again soon.

Much love

The Male Room Craft Challenge #162

Welcome all!

Over at The Male Room Craft Challenge this month we have the theme of 'Sport'.

My husband likes to play golf, when he gets the chance, so I bought a stamp set especially to make this card for the girls to give him this Father's Day!

I'm not really one for creating 'scenes' on cards so I veered away from grass and sky and decided that the golf bag would look great gold heat embossed onto dark blue card. The circle behind is the debossed side of a spotty embossing folder, to mimic a golf ball! And behind that is a rectangle of the same card simply embossed with lines for texture. In keeping with my current fondness for coloured card blanks, I have used the same dark blue card to make an A6 sized card blank.

Please do head over to The Male Room blog where you will see lots more amazing inspiration and you can join in the fun challenge! (Don't forget to add our challenge graphic to your blog post and a link back to the challenge to be eligible for votes).

Much love
