Papercraft Challenges #96 - Summer Fun

Hi everyone,

This month at Papercraft Challenges our theme is 'Summer Fun'.

When I think of summer, this fantastic Block Party Summer stamp from Uniko pops into my mind as it captures the essence of summer at the beach.

I wanted to create a 'no line' look so I inked the stamp up in bands of colour and then used the same colours of alcohol markers to fill in the images. I then continued the banded theme by layering the main image onto a panel made up of three bands of coloured card.

Head over to the Papercraft Challenges blog and check out the fantastic inspiration from the rest of the design team and join in with challenge #96. This month's challenge is sponsored by Little Crafts and the winners prize this month is a surprise!

The Male Room Challenge #176 - Travel

Hey there!

This month's challenge at The Male Room focuses on Travel:

Lots of scope here I think. Could be a holiday destination, could be a method of travel...I went with good old fashioned walking! Something we do a lot more of now we have a dog! These walking boots look a lot cleaner than mine however.

I have stamped, coloured and fussy cut the images before layering them onto a patterned paper background. I'm always looking of ways to use up some of my ridiculously large patterned paper stash and this one fit the theme perfectly!

What take on the theme will you come up with for your project? Upload them at The Male Room Challenge #176 and check out the fantastic inspiration by the rest of the Design Team whilst you are there.

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Originally Organic

Morning all,

For this month’s Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post I wanted to use something with a matching die so I chose Uniko Originally Organic stamp and die bundle

The main stamp in the set is so beautifully intricate and I thought it would be nice to team it with contrasting backgrounds using Uniko Background Blocks Diagonal Stripes, Horizontal Stripe and Rays

For each card I stamped, coloured and die cut the Originally Organic image and on a different piece of card I stamped the background block. I die cut the Originally Organic flourish from the background block and inlaid the coloured image before adding a sentiment.

All three work really well with the background blocks. I think the last one is my favourite.

While I was clearing up my desk I then realised that the ‘waste’ pieces cut from the backgrounds above looked really cool so I stamped them with the Originally Organic flourish. I didn’t feel the need to colour them as the had the colour from the BB stamp. I kept these cards very CAS, and happily made another three very quick cards.

A very productive craft session and I’m pleased wi was able to make three more ‘bonus’ cards and not waste any papercraft bits!

The Male Room Challenge #175 - Shaker Cards

Morning all,

Welcome to The Male Room Challenge #175 where we are looking for your masculine shaker cards.

I don't often make shaker cards and I don't think I've made a masculine one before so I had a good look through my stash and spotted some bottle dies and created my card around those!

I die cut the dark blue shaped panel and then die cut the bottle from the centre and the swirls from either side. I backed the aperture with acetate and edged with foam pads on the back. I die cut the bottle and elements from brown, red and gold card and add this to the Kraft card square before adding gold stars and gems and sealing these in with the blue panel. I die cut the rest of the elements from red card and added around the card front for interest.

Looking forward to seeing your masculine shaker cards which you can join in with here. Check out The Male Room blog for more fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design team.

Uniko May / June Release - Introducing Stencil Layering Bauhaus Blocks Builder

Hi all,

Welcoming you to day three of the Uniko May / June release and today we are introducing Stencil Layering Bauhaus Blocks Builder. This is a set of three stencils which can be used alone or together to create some great effects.

For my first card I used all three stencils and inked the whole image before cutting each square apart and adhered to the red panel using foam pads to raise every other square.

My second card uses three different shades of blue which also makes for an eye catching effect. I’m not the only Brand Ambassador that chose to show this stencil off in beautiful blues. Hop over to the Uniko blog tomorrow to see how Julie and I have managed to telepathically share ideas for this release once again! 😂

Don't hesitate to get over to the Uniko blog today to see the wonderful projects created by the Brand Ambassadors using this wonderful stencil set. And, join us tomorrow for the full product reveal and Brand Ambassador blog hop.

Hello!

Day two of the Uniko May / June release introductions and we have a very exciting stamp set for you today called Bauhaus Blocks.

As you will see from my second card, this set features a collection of geometric designs perfect for colouring any way you choose. I however, saw a mountain (with trees and clouds) and a boat out at sea when I stamped the two images in my first card above!

Definitely be sure to pop over to the Uniko blog to see the brilliant ways in which the Brand Ambassadors have used these unique and interesting stamps. I’ve really been enjoying playing about with this stamp set.

Uniko May / June Release - Introducing Stencil Flower Power #4

Morning all,

Welcome to the first day of introductions of the Uniko May / June release. Today we have the Uniko Stencil Flower Power #4 which can be used as a stand alone stencil or with the Uniko Flower Power #4 stamp set.

I created a lovely rainbow effect with lots of masking and lots of different inks. It took a while to create but so satisfying to thee the end result once the stencil is removed!

My second card couldn’t be more different with a simple one colour tone for a more muted creation. Here I added the little accent stamps from the Flower Power #4 stamp set.

Don't forget to hop over to the Uniko blog and check out the beautiful creations by the rest of the Brand Ambassadors. My card isn’t the only rainbow beauty created using this fabulous stencil!

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Bokeh Layering Hearts

Good morning,

Today I am showcasing the Uniko Bokeh Layering Hearts stencil set which were released earlier this year. Unfortunately I didn't have time to use them during the Release in Review so I have made three cards today to show the different ways in which they can be used.

There are two stencils within the Bokeh Layering Hearts set. Here I have used one single stencil featuring just hearts:

I have kept this card very simple and added detail with a shaped die cut. The heart containing the sentiment and the small one to the right of it are fussy cut and applied with foam pads for added interest.

My next card uses the other stencil from the set featuring the word 'love' in the shape of a heart.

Again the background was simple to create and I chose to use blue to imitate the sky and clouds. I then added the hot air balloon and sentiment from the Uniko Up & Away stamp set.

My final card uses the two stencils together:

I wanted to make an impact so I chose to layer black and white onto the green hearts. I felt the colours were striking and needed a statement piece as a topper which I found from the Uniko Mid Century Modern Frames stamp set.

Hopefully that has given you some ideas for using the stencils separately or together.

Since AAA birthday card challenges has a ‘balloon’ theme for the month of May I will be entering my second card with the hot air balloon (although I’m not sure that’s the sort of balloon they are looking for!!).

I will also be entering my third card into Happy Little Stampers May Stencil Challenge which has an ‘Anything Goes’ theme.

The Male Room Challenge #174 - Animals

Morning all,

This month’s theme at The Male Room is always a very popular one - ‘Animals’.

I think it’s popular because people have a lot of animal stamps or dies (etc) in their stash and it’s an easy theme to make masculine.

For my card I used Clearly Besotted Love London stamp set which features cute hippos.

And I have to add that it is pure coincidence that I chose this theme for this challenge that went live the week of our Kings Coronation here in the UK!

For the background I inked up the Clearly Besotted Splat It stencil which adds to the fun I think.

Hop over to The Male Room blog for more inspiration from the fabulous Design Team and to join in the fun this month.

Much love
